On the new album, I played a lot of kora and used a guitar tuning that matched that. “Honestly, it’s mainly just one tuning I use and that’s open D, and often with a capo. I didn’t really know anyone and the music I heard, I didn’t really like. “When I started on acoustic I didn’t really have too many influences.
